In today’s world, massive amounts of ever-increasing freely available information in hundreds of channels and thousands of sources make it very difficult to find exactly what you are looking for.

Het opleidingsprogramma OSINT Pathfinder is juist met dat doel opgezet: het delen van innovatieve technologieën en baanbrekende methoden om uit open bronnen de best mogelijke informatie te halen en zo antwoorden te vinden.
Arno’ OSINT Methodology is the heart of the progamme. How to search for reliable, validated and authoritative open source information in a structured, systematic and planned way. A thorough, in-depth system is essential to find the pearls in the ever increasing ocean of publicly available information. No more Google Guessing (see the post about this phenomenon), but structure.
The programme will show that OSINT is very much more than just randomly entering terms in a Internet search engine. Search engines only cover a fraction of the open source information that is out there.

Bovendien moet het onderzoek in open bronnen veilig zijn, dat wil zeggen dat de identiteit van de onderzoeker moet worden beschermd en dat zijn of haar informatieprofiel en informatiepositie moeten worden gewaarborgd door middel van belangrijke beveiligingsmaatregelen.
Drie dagen hard werken, volledig ondersteund door uitgebreide en gedetailleerde documentatie waarmee je zelf aan de slag kunt. Maar wees gerust: aangezien het echte werk voor jou pas begint nadat de training is afgelopen, blijven de docenten nog een jaar na afloop van de training beschikbaar voor vragen, problemen en oplossingen.

Amongst others: requirement analysis ; constructing a open source research plan, dark web research, the global information landscape, how to find out about…; news sources, country information sources, expert Boolean, best search strategies, and much more

The programme is particularly suited for, a.o., analysts
There is some technical stuff included, but extensive technical knowledge is not requried to do the programme
The training is not a Tool Tricks Training type of course. It is more about the WHY and HOW, the details are covered in the OSINT Training Manual and in the quick reference sheets.

The programme runs for three full days, 24 hours in total.
The training aims to be practical and applicable. The goals is really to have participants return to their office with a set of new capabilities and skills that can be applied immediately.
Prior to the training programme, we publish two Preparation Letters for participants with important information on how to best prepare for the training. Technical information and travel information is included.
Het OSINT Pathfinder-trainingsprogramma vindt plaats in het prachtige Fletcher Wellness Hotel in Leiden, Nederland.
De locatie ligt vlak bij het historische stadscentrum met bars, cafés, restaurants en winkels, en is goed bereikbaar met het openbaar vervoer.

Arno is de oprichter en voormalig hoofd van de afdeling Open Source Intelligence van de Nederlandse Dienst voor Inlichtingen en Veiligheid. Hij richtte OSINT in 1990 op en was tot 2013 hoofd van deze afdeling. Sindsdien wijdt Arno al zijn tijd aan het delen van zijn passie voor OSINT.
